About Me

Sea Morecambe is basically me, Carolyn Phillips, with website help from my technical guru husband. I’ve always lived in Lancashire, born to the east of the county, then moving to the university in Lancaster at 18, and staying around ever since. That is now the vast majority of my life, raising my family and not quite growing up. I now live in Heysham and love exploring the coastline and town, camera or phone in hand. I do occasionally venture further afield, especially since learning to swim and discovering that wild swimming in lakes makes me alive in a way nothing else does.

Am I photographer or an artist? I’d like to think I am both. I’ve always been creative, and over the years that has expressed itself in many different ways, through ideas, crafting, writing, and now through digital photographic art. I take photographs mainly on either a Canon R7 or an Apple iPhone and then use a variety of methods in different apps and programmes to transform the photograph into a unique piece of artwork. I want my images to be more than a representation of a scene in front of my eyes, I want them to evoke an emotional response and to hint at a story.
